Impressão em belíssimos e pequenos carateres itálicos em todo o texto, que está adornado por cabeções, iniciais decoradas e florões de remate. Nos índices, com o texto disposto a duas colunas, são usados carateres romanos.

As páginas preliminares do 1º volume contêm a dedicatória do autor ao P. Lauro Badoaro, Pregador e Vigário Geral dos Crucíferos, 12 poesias em louvor do autor, e aos leitores de Vespasiano Zugliano que faz um elogio das qualidades do autor.

As páginas preliminares do 2º volume contêm dedicatória dos herdeiros do livreiro Perin a Thomaso Contarini, Podestá de Vicenza e 4 poesias em louvor do autor. As páginas finais dos dois volumes contêm índice onomástico e índice de assuntos dividido em duas secções uma relativa aos homens e outra às mulheres.

4º edição de Il Vago e dilettevole giardino, 1ª edição em 1586, 2ª edição em 1589 e 3ª edição em 1597, posteriormente foi publicado em 1607, 1616 e 1619. A Aggiunta foi publicada pela primeira vez em 1590, 2ª edição em 1596 e esta edição de 1602 que é a terceira.

Obra muito popular na passagem do século XVI para o XVII, sendo uma enciclopédia portátil que reúne grande quantidade de informações sobre os mais variados tópicos de história, religião, literatura e grande número de notas biográficas.

Luigi Contarino de nobres famílias entrou aos 10 anos na Ordem dos Cruciferos e distinguiu-se como historiador e poeta. Em 1553 publicou poesias e posteriormente outras obras sobre a história de Nápoles, sobre as Antiguidades de Roma.

Imprinted in beautiful small italic characters throughout the text, which is adorned with headpieces, decorated initials, and finixhing fleurons. Roman characters are used in the indixes, with the text laid out in two columns.

The preliminary pages of the 1st volume contain the author's dedication to Fr. Lauro Badoaro, Preacher and Vicar General of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star, 12 poems in praise of the author, and to the readers by Vespasiano Zugliano who gives a eulogy about the author's qualities.

The preliminary pages of the 2nd volume contain dedication by the heirs of the bookseller Perin to Thomaso Contarini, Podestá (chief magistrate) of Vicenza and 4 poems in praise of the author. The final pages of both volumes contain onomastic index and subject index divided into two sections one concerning men and the other women.

4th edition of Il Vago e dilettevole giardino, 1st edition in 1586, 2nd edition in 1589 and 3rd edition in 1597, later published in 1607, 1616 and 1619. The Aggiunta was first published in 1590, 2nd edition in 1596 and this edition of 1602 which is the third.

Very popular work at the turn of the sixteenth to the seventeenth century, being a portable encyclopaedia bringing together a great deal of information on a wide variety of topics in history, religion, literature and a large number of biographical notes.

Luigi Contarino from noble families entered the Order of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star at the age of 10 and distinguished himself as a historian and poet. In 1553 he published poems and later other works on the history of Naples, on the Antiquities of Rome.
