Demétrio Cinatti (Lisboa, 1851 – Lisboa, 1921) foi um oficial da Marinha Portuguesa e diplomata nascido em Lisboa. Iniciou a sua carreira na Marinha em 1868, tornando-se Capitão-de-Fragata em 1888. Em 1878, foi nomeado Imediato da Polícia do Porto de Macau, onde fundou o Observatório Astronómico e realizou o primeiro levantamento da cidade. Cinatti tornou-se sócio da Sociedade de Geografia de Lisboa em 1882 e expandiu a sua atuação para a diplomacia em 1890, servindo como cônsul em Cantão e mais tarde em Tóquio. Publicou traduções de trabalhos médicos orientais em 1892. Entre 1894 e 1902, atuou como cônsul em Zanzibar e Pretória, respetivamente. Nomeado para a Comissão de Delimitação do Território de Macau em 1909, continuou a sua carreira diplomática até se aposentar em 1918. Faleceu em Lisboa em 1921, deixando um legado notável tanto na Marinha como na diplomacia portuguesa. O seu espólio está na Biblioteca Universitária João Paulo II, na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, em Lisboa.

Demétrio Cinatti (Lisbon, 1851 - Lisbon, 1921) was a Portuguese naval officer and diplomat born in Lisbon. He began his career in the Navy in 1868, becoming a Frigate Captain in 1888. In 1878, he was appointed Police First Officer of the Port of Macau, where he founded the Astronomical Observatory and carried out the first survey of the city. Cinatti became a member of the Lisbon Geographical Society in 1882 and expanded his work into diplomacy in 1890, serving as consul in Canton and later in Tokyo. He published translations of oriental medical works in 1892. Between 1894 and 1902, he served as consul in Zanzibar and Pretoria, respectively. Appointed to the Macau Territory Delimitation Commission in 1909, he continued his diplomatic career until he retired in 1918. He died in Lisbon in 1921, leaving a remarkable legacy in both the Portuguese Navy and diplomacy. His estate is housed in Biblioteca Universitária João Paulo II (João Paulo II University Library) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portuguese Catholic University) in Lisbon.
