De 17,5x10 cm. Com vi, [ii], 228, [iv] págs. Encadernação da época inteira de pele, com rótulos e ferros a ouro na lombada. Inclui o número 6 gravado a ouro, tendo sido encadernado em conjunto com outras obras do autor, embora o livro não faça parte de uma coleção do editor.

Impressão ornamentada com um cabeção ao início da obra e pequenos florões de remate.

Exemplar com pequenas falhas de pele, principalmente à cabeça da lombada. Tem assinatura de posse de Henriqueta Júlia Preciosa Verney, na guarda anterior, manchas nas folhas de guarda e pequeno pico de traça desde a primeira folha até à página 72.

Prefácio nas páginas em numeração romana, índice de capítulos nas duas páginas não numeradas seguintes, aprovações e privilégio real nas últimas páginas não numeradas.

Edição muito rara. A edição mais antiga presente na BNF [Bibliothèque Nationale de France] é de 1737. Quérard só refere edições de 1823 e 1824.

Jean-Baptiste-Elie Avrillon (Paris, 1652 – Paris, 1729) foi um teólogo e autor de diversas obras devocionais, muito estimadas pela Igreja Católica. Ingressou na Ordem dos Mínimos em 1671 e exerceu o cargo de orador até um ano antes da sua morte, em 1728.

 17.5x10 cm. vi, [ii], 228, [iv] pp. Bound in contemporary full leather, with labels and gilt tools on the spine. Includes the number 6 engraved in gold, having been bound at the same time as other works by the author, although the book is not part of the publisher's collection.

Print decorated with a headpiece at the beginning of the work and small finishing fleurons.

Copy with small signs of leather flaws, mainly at the head of the spine. There is a handwritten ownership title from Henriqueta Júlia Preciosa Verney on the front cover, stains on the endpapers and a small moth hole from the first leaf to page 72.

Preface on the Roman-numbered pages, chapter index on the next two unnumbered pages, approvals and royal privilege on the last unnumbered pages.

The oldest edition in the BNF [Bibliothèque Nationale de France] is from 1737. Quérard only mentions editions from 1823 and 1824.

Jean-Baptiste-Elie Avrillon (Paris, 1652 - Paris, 1729) was a theologian and author of several devotional works held in high esteem by the Catholic Church. He joined the Order of the Minims in 1671 and held the position of orator until a year before his death in 1728.
