O quadro apresenta pequenos restauros.

Pequena história do Castelo do Ovo:

Short history the Castle of the Egg (in Italian, Castel dell'Ovo):

It was the royal palace of the sovereigns of Naples, and is one of the elements that most stand out in the famous panorama of the Gulf of Naples. It is located on the Megáride islet, or island of tuff (in Greek, Megaris), which was attached to the mainland. Its name derives from an ancient legend: a magician hid in the building a magic egg that would keep the entire fortress standing. Cuman people, in the 7th century BC, founded the first nucleus of Palepoli [Paleo Polis] the genesis of present-day Naples [Neo Polis]. In the 1st century BC, the Roman Lúcio Licínio Lúculo built a luxurious villa, which was endowed with a very rich library, as well as seafood nurseries. In mid-fifth century the villa was fortified by the Roman Emperor, having been inhabited by the last deposed Emperor of Rome, Rómulo Augusto, in 476. Later the Basilian Christian monks had a community there, and adopted in the 7th century the Rule of Saint Benedict. Theycreated an important office of  bookmaking (scriptorium), probably using the originals remained of the Luculan library. In the Middle Ages the castle was razed by the Dukes of Naples to prevent the Arabs from fortifying there. Roger, the Normand, conquered Naples in 1140, and made Castelo do Ovo its own headquarters, being at the bulwark tower that his flags draped.
