English translation of Freud’s works on psychology, more complete than the German edition «Gesammelte Werke», and enhanced with footnotes and notes on the translation of technical terms. A wide scope work, with a very thorough and scientifically reliable translation, that brings to public knowledge this set of writings that had deep influence in the world of medicine, psychiatry, and culture in general.

The British editors and translators placed the works in chronological order, with some exceptions, since they added supplements that were written many years after the works they refer to. They also included many letters exchanged by Freud with Wilhelm Fliess, which they considered to be important for the study of the scientist’s ideas.

The contents of the volumes are as follows: I - Pre-Psycho-Analytical Publications and Unpublished Drafts (1886-1899). II - Studies on Hysteria (1893-1895). III - Early Psycho-Analytic Publications (1893-1899). IV - The Interpretations of Dreams (I) (1900). V - The Interpretations of Dreams (II) and On Dreams (1900-1901). Sigmund Freud (Freiberg, 1856 – London, 1939), born in the Austrian Empire, was a neurologist and father of the psychoanalysis, a clinical method to treat psychological pathologies. Although there is a long lasting debater about the efficiency of his method, his ideas had and continue to have a great influence all over the world.
